What to do during the Coronavirus pandemic?

We are open and our staff are on hand for you and your pets during this difficult time.

In The Veterinary Clinic Group we are doing everything we can to keep your pet healthy whilst observing the UK Government lockdown and Social Distancing guidelines during this pandemic. Our pets are an essential part of our lives and our lives are enriched by them so we want to do the very best we can under difficult circumstances.

We are now recommending video and phone consultations wherever we can to reduce contact unless a face-to-face consultation is necessary.

The Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons have changed their guidelines so that we can now see all cases where there might be a deterioration in the next 8 weeks. If you are concerned about your pet please phone your usual clinic.

Due to staff shortages we have had to close some clinics and change the way that we answer our phones. Please help our teams to help you by being patient and answering their questions as the phone might not be answered by someone who is personally familiar with your pets.

We are vaccinating puppies, kittens and baby rabbits and doing annual boosters where your pet might be at risk.

We are still providing long term medicines, food and parasite treatment. Please contact your branch. We have special ways to pick up treatments and new ways of communicating with you. If you don’t have access to a smart phone or the internet please just tell our call handlers and they will find ways to help you.

In all cases social distancing must be respected to protect both our clients and our staff so please check what our procedures are in advance of your visit.

The Vet Clinic Maypole surgery is temporarily closed until further notice. For appointments and enquiries, please contact The Vet Clinic Kings Heath.

The Vet Clinic Sutton Park will temporarily close on 27th March 2020 until further notice. For appointments and enquiries, please contact The Vet Clinic New Hall.

The Castle Bromwich Clinic is closed until further notice. For appointments and enquiries, please contact The Vet Clinic Erdington.

At TVC we believe that pets are family and that is our first priority. We are proud to offer a full range of veterinary care & services across our branches. We are fully computerised and have a digital messaging service reminding you when your pet is due for vaccinations, flea/worming treatments and pre-booked appointments.

Our veterinary team care for your pets as if they were their own four legged family members. We believe  in training and development for all and we take part in a recent veterinary graduate training rotation. We are one of the few veterinary nurse Training Practices in Birmingham and believe in training our nurses to the highest possible standard in accordance with the Veterinary Nurse diploma and degree courses. Our nursing team can offer advice on any aspect of pet care, including diet & nutrition, flea & worming treatments, microchipping, insurance and our Pet Health Club.

Some of our facilities include an in-house laboratory as well as an excellent external diagnostics service, digital radiography as well as ultrasonography, ultrasonic dentistry and full hospitalization facilities for poorly pets. We have access to the Visiting Vet dedicated house visit service which will transport a vet to see your pet in the comfort of your own home. For overnight and week end emergency care we use Northside Emergency Veterinary Clinic based in Great Barr which employs a dedicated team of emergency vets and nurses.

"Took our puppy there for his jabs etc. The staff were extremely polite and helpful. Also the waiting room is pleasant and I found it easy to have a chat to other people waiting to have their pets seen. One of the nicest vets I have been to."

"Couldn’t recommend highly enough. Our cat Smudge was hit by a car last November and was in a pretty bad way. All of the staff at The Vetinary Clinic have been very kind since the night it happened and have gone above and beyond in helping us bring him back to the chirpy chap he was before the accident."
